ABOUT US
Welcome, friend! My name is Macie Kindler, and I’m the owner of The Flossy Peach. Here’s a little info about me and this lovely place.
Fashion has always intrigued me, even as a little girl. My mom loves to tell the story of how I once came inside from a long day of playing with the older girls in our neighborhood to let her know, “Mama, they said my polka dot outfit is really in this year!”.
Growing up working different retail jobs in our small town of Moultrie, Georgia, I developed a passion for helping customers purchase items that they absolutely loved. Deep down, I knew a future in retail and fashion was my dream, but I wasn’t sure how to turn it into a viable career.
I began going to school as a pre-pharmacy major, but it only took me a few weeks and one major chemistry test to realize I didn’t want to go through years of study for a career I didn’t love.
I decided then and there that I wasn't going to put my dream on hold because of fear or uncertainty. I marched over to the business hall and changed my major that day.
Fast forward a couple of years, and I decided to turn my dreams into a reality. After much prayer and discussion with my family and friends, I started The Flossy Peach during my junior year of college.
The Flossy Peach began as an online and mobile shop. We had all the clothing set up in the spare bedroom at my parents’ house. I would come home from school every weekend to steam clothes, hold photoshoots, pack and ship orders, the works.
We would also host trunk shows each season to debut our collections. They acted as one-weekend pop-up shops for customers to come try on the clothing and shop in person. This was such a great way for us to expand our customer list and build momentum!
After two years of trunk shows and college graduation, I announced plans to open our first brick and mortar shop in Downtown Moultrie. Our first little Main Street location needed lots of love, but after a few months of renovations, we created the perfect space to begin our brick-and-mortar journey.
5 years later we were out of room and needing an expansion. We patiently waited until the right space came along, and finally landed our dream spot just one block down on Main Street. We fully renovated our giant historic building and were able to create a beautiful storefront nestled in the heart of downtown where we now reside.
I am so proud of our shop and its impact on our little downtown square. I truly adore being a part of such a strong community filled with neat local restaurants and shops. Watching the growth it has had over the last 7 years since we opened has truly been a joy.
Along with the help of our amazing team of women, I have been able to build such a happy place to shop and spend time. Our customers are some of the best around and are so supportive. I walk in every day with such a feeling of gratitude that I get to do what I love every single day.
I’m so glad you’ve chosen to spend some time on our site today and am happy to help with anything at all!
